After
each of the three separate 'thinking tools' has been introduced,
the pupil has an opportunity to apply the tool to:
A series of topics taken from the curriculum
Issues taken from typical situations in their lives.
Thus pupils begin to internalise the thinking processes involved
by tackling issues that are directly relevant to them.
The programme
therefore not only supports the school curriculum, but is an important
contributor to each pupil's personal development and behaviour.
Specifically
the program helps pupils:
Compare and contrast situations, ideas and concepts
Collect relevant information and judge its value
Give reasons
for their opinions and actions
Draw inferences
and explain their own thinking
Make reasoned
judgements and decisions
Define problems
and look
for innovative solutions
Plan projects
and predict
outcomes
Control and
modify their own behaviour
